🚨 Report a Crypto Scam

If you've been the victim of a cryptocurrency scam, don't panic—take the following steps to protect yourself and report the incident to the proper authorities.

🔍 1. Stop All Contact

Immediately stop communicating with the scammer. Do not send any more funds or share any personal details.

📝 2. Gather Evidence

Collect everything related to the scam:

  • Transaction IDs (TXID)
  • Crypto wallet addresses involved
  • Screenshots of emails, messages, or chats
  • Any names, phone numbers, or usernames used by the scammer
  • Timestamps and the amount sent

🛡️ 3. Report to Authorities

In Canada:

🏦 4. Notify Your Financial Institution

If you paid using a debit card, credit card, or bank transfer, contact your bank immediately. They might be able to reverse the transaction or freeze your account.

📩 5. Contact Crypto Services

If you used a crypto ATM or exchange:

  • Notify the provider immediately.
  • Provide transaction ID and wallet addresses.

If the scam involved a CasaCrypto ATM, contact us right away: support@casacrypto.ca

🔒 6. Secure Your Accounts

  • Change your email and wallet passwords.
  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
  • Be cautious of further contact from scammers.

💡 How to Spot a Crypto Scam

  • Promises of guaranteed high returns
  • Pressure to act quickly or keep it secret
  • Requests to send crypto to “unlock” more money
  • Fake celebrity endorsements or giveaways
  • “Tech support” asking for wallet access

Be skeptical. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
